PC main menu request

Can you please make a main menu/front end that doesn't ignore frame caps and doesn't attempt to toast my pc.

I just fired up 2042 for the first time in a long time and I was instantly reminded how bad the front end is, literally ignores my frame cap which I need in place to utilise dlss.

  • There should definitely be a way to limit the framerate. The console command in BF1 to limit the framerate is GameTime.MaxVariableFps.

For some reason the console command doesn't work in 2042. External framerate limiters don't work nearly as well as an internal limiter built into the game engine.

FWIW I use the one built into the nvidia control panel to limit to 117fps and it seems to work okay and goes across the board. Also means I don't have to mess with vsync and other options between each game.

But agreed in principle, it should be using the setting that is set in the settings everywhere.

I set the cap in nvidia cp but on the front end the frames go crazy and my pc starts cooking.

This actually happened in fifa before too.

Interesting, I'll have to give it a whirl sometime, I've long since uninstalled 2042 to make room for other games.
