I strongly disagree indeed. What you describe is exactly what’s wrong with gaming nowadays, and it’s not the game developers fault, they’re just exploiting the FOMO of people like you that want everything handed to them. People making a fuzz about cosmetics that do nothing to improve gameplay. Cosmetics when applied don’t even enhance your own gameplay because it’s a FIRST person shooter in which outside of the lobby you don’t even get to see your own skin 🤦🏻♂️
It’s because of this mentality that game developers got lazy. Why bother and invest development time in creating real content like new maps to get earnings if you simply can boost revenue by selling cosmetics, which in worst case can be AI generated?

I'll add a few thoughts: Unfortunately for everyone, the fomo and battle passes arrived years ago and they are not going to remove it. Things should be like Helldivers 2 warbonds (buy the battlepass via money or in game currency, finish it at your pace) or Space Marine 2 (if you missed the event for a cosmetic, there is a chance it will appear later to buy in game with in game currency) but sadly they are the exception and not the norm. Games like Helldivers is a great example, and I've gladly paid for virtually all of the warbonds that Arrowhead has released since the game's launch. If more games had a monetary system like Helldivers 2, then more games would be seeing a lot more of my money and play time.
