Please do not use FOMO to drive players, it is counterproductive.
I am a casual player. For me, I don't harbor too much resentment towards the lengthy weapon progression system (though it is unreasonably slow). Instead, what I cannot accept is this disgusting battle pass, like every online shooter now,. What is even more outrageous is that if you purchase the 'Pro' version, you are forced to play modes you completely dislike and desperately use playstyles you absolutely don't prefer, essentially playing the game like a job, or you permanently lose the opportunity to obtain a reward. After I completed the first limited-time battle pass event, I completely lost the motivation to touch this game again. Because my entire impression of the game is stuck on the negative experiences of playing modes I dislike in ways I don't prefer, my way of avoiding loss aversion is to completely stop looking at any information related to the game. I know I cannot speak for all players, and the recent significant player loss for BF6 may not be due to this reason. BF6 has a very solid foundation and my favorite theme. Before the first Battlepass launched, it was one of the most enjoyable multiplayer games I had played since COD2019. I sincerely hope to continue loving it, but your user retention design does not allow for this. I will no longer consider purchasing any tier of battle pass for this product. I will probably wait for a new title to come out, and for BF6 to stop receiving updates, to play it again—simply to avoid being coerced by your childish FOMO design. I just want to experience the game at my own pace. Now, I'm going back to playing bf4 or COD2019.
