The PS4 Pro could probably run it as well as the Series S does but base PS4 wouldn't be up to it. The best option for your friend would be to buy an Xbox Series S, you could still play together as you could add each other as EA Friends.

I'm sorry to say that it's incredibly unlikely to happen as BF6 wasn't built to be supported by last generation consoles. Unfortunately, BF2042 was the last Battlefield game that had a version made for PS4 and the Xbox One.
