On consoles it's even worse, as it's even harder to get the marker with pinpoint precision on that enemy that killed you using the thumbsticks. It worked a lot better in BF 2042 and many of its predecessors, but in good old Battlefield fashion they tried to fix something that wasn't broken but made it worse instead.
