How is it acceptable to EA that it's easier to find a game in BF4 than BF6?
In the last couple of weeks, suddenly lobbies are struggling to fill and then they hit some kind of timeout and start filling with bots, which is when I instantly back out. Hey EA, I am never going to play with bots ever. That's not what I paid for and I would rather play nothing than play with bots.
How has EA mangled their matchmaking so badly that I can quit BF6 and instantly jump in a 64 player game of the 12 year old Battlefield game, but I somehow cannot get a lobby of humans on the newest Battlefield game. During evening hours. On a weekend. There's clearly been some kind of change to matchmaking because there’s plenty enough players online to fill lobbies but nope, not if you’re EA. Why do I go from a full lobby, round ends, and the next one fills with bots? Why not just... let us keep playing together and fill only who leaves? Wow what a mindblowing concept.
Somehow it's acceptable to EA that I WANT to play your game and literally can’t because you can't fill a lobby. (Portal is DOA because it's 30 Hz tick and the netcode struggles enough at 60 Hz, so it's a complete non-starter, and that's if using the "server browser" wasn't also an awful experience.) Oh well guess I’m not spending another dollar on your “live” service, and I would have. Your loss. It's so frustrating because I'm experiencing no technical problems, and I actually LIKE the game, but EA can't put 64 players in a lobby together while there's tens of thousands of players online. It boggles the mind to the point you feel like it has to be deliberate.
Never seen a company fumble the bag so hard that they go from bestselling shooter of the year to can’t fill a lobby in under 6 months. Bravo, that takes real effort. This is the modern "AAA" experience - take the money, give the customer the finger. Well, it's the last money you'll ever see from me EA. Don't spend it all in one place.
