Predatory Monetization

I fear the EA buyout will result in excessive monetization. I already expected battle pass skins and the sort. But now I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw Portal creations being paywalled.

praying for DICE right now.

  • LOL. They cant change rules for Battlefield 6 because eventual lawsuit would be a certain loss for them. Right now EA is listening to shareholders not players so I'm looking forward for the new reality.

I'm assuming you mean that figuratively.

The "rules"? Who is going to sue EA for adding microtransactions?

    On what grounds?

Yeah, all the big wigs were replaced by EA employees at DICE.

  • I’m predicting that they’ll introduce micro transactions for fuel and ammo. So when you run out of ammo or fuel, you’ll have to buy it with Boins.

  • If it's anything like 'EA FC' (the former 'FIFA' football game) then we're in for a ride.

According to reviews, their 'battle pass' (whatever it is there called) is rife with monetization. Kit upgrades and legendary players paywalled. Shell out and pay or else stick with the free basic tier offers.

(Which I personally don't mind, so long as the basic tiership then includes a plethora of maps and useful weapons, etc; as I don't fortunately suffer from FOMO. Problem will be if what is beyond free is actually good, useful, or powerful. Imagine access to artillery callouts only if you have paid for the 'Long Distance Support' add-on available for 14,99€/$/£.)
