RedSec Solos Information movement Counterweight
In RedSec Solos, most information gathering mechanics naturally expose players who are moving. Footsteps, doors, ladders, rotations, gunfire, drones, and motion sensors all tend to reveal active players. Meanwhile, players who remain stationary for extended periods generate very little information for other players.
This creates an imbalance in the information ecosystem, particularly in Solos where there are fewer teammates, fewer engagements, and fewer natural opportunities to gather intelligence.
Rather than punishing stationary play, consider adding a counterweight through a battlefield surveillance system. Players who remain within a very small area for an extended period could gradually accumulate thermal, satellite, or signal detection risk. This would not reveal an exact location immediately, but could escalate from warnings, to a general area marker, to occasional intelligence pings if inactivity continues.
The goal would not be to eliminate stealth or defensive play. The goal would be to create additional decisions, engagements, and opportunities for interaction while preserving player choice. A player could still choose to hold a position, but doing so for an extended period would gradually create information for other players, just as movement already does today.
This feels consistent with RedSec's surveillance and reconnaissance themes, creates new gameplay opportunities, and helps balance the risk between highly mobile and highly stationary playstyles in Solos.
