Scope zoom improvement suggestion

There are a few ways to have a variable zoom scope in this game. The magnifier, canted, mounted, or low zoom attachments, and the scopes that have in-built zoom variation available. All of these are just about unusable in practice because you cannot reliably predict whether the next engagement will be at the current range your scope is set at. For example, you have raised the magnifier but you have to run through a close quarters area for a few seconds. The current solution is to stop, raise your sights, toggle the zoom level, then proceed. This cannot happen during an engagement because of the speed of gameplay.

To make these attachments and sights more usable, it would be necessary to be able to change their status without having to scope in first. Let's say you are sprinting out of a close quarters area and see an enemy retreating over a hill in the distance. You have a scope or magnifier that can help you, but there is no time to scope in and toggle it before the target escapes. However, if you were able to toggle it during the sprint out of a closed-in area to a wider area, you are then ready to engage in that new environment immediately.

Part of the problem is also uncertainty which level zoom you left it at. There would need to be a clear visual indicator to show the current zoom level of your weapon if it can change. It would be nice to be able to customise the HUD element to have it near the centre of the screen or larger if one prefers. This would play nicely with the Trigger attachment. While that can be toggled during movement, toggling that plus the zoom feature gets unmanageable with the speed of the game. It would be nice to be able to use some guns with a long-range mode with the Trigger attachment and a variable zoom scope in a more fluid way. The single shot function and the increased zoom might even be linked somehow so both toggle at once.
