Separate Medical Gameplay from Support Class

The Support Class is proficient in Light Machine Guns (LMGs) the purpose of a LMG is to suppress by laying a whole Lotta lead down range, to keep the enemies heads down, while your team pushes. Or.. Spray and pray while clearing rooms (not recommended).

But none the less, the Support role in itself serves a important role suppressing and providing ammo / cover.  The whole medical aspec deducts from its role as a Support "gunner".    My solution(s)

1, Add a specialist perk which allows players to choose the Support role as a Gunner (LMG + Ammo) or Medical (Assault Rifle / Carbine + Medic)

2, Create a new Class, Similar to the old Battlefield titles (Medic)

3, add the Medic role to Assualt.

While 1 and 2 are more appealing. 3 wouldn't hurt.

Thus it wouldn't have a significantly negative impact on the game, and would offer more roles and require further teamwork among players. As we all know, alot of people play the Support role for the LMG, but dont participate in the medical gameplay.

the purpose of a LMG is to suppress by laying a whole Lotta lead down range, to keep the enemies heads down, while your team pushes.

This is what some people imagine support to be, but it's not what support actually is, regardless of whether they can play medic or not. People don't play like that. People aren't going to play like that. Wasting bullets to suppress is pointless, because you're just giving your position away. If they people play like that, they'll get shot by a sniper, blown up or knifed.

The whole medical aspec deducts from its role as a Support "gunner".

If you take away medic from support, people will just play medic. Even if they play support, they'd still not magically start to use teamwork any more than they do now.

Support should not have the medic loadout it should always be the secondary Assault loadout. I have been a support player for 20+ years and hate and having to do the medics job for them, it also takes away a squad role away from assault. (I also think it was only given to support because we are the only ones who threw crates down in other Battlefields 🤣). Suppression IS a large part of being a support player it not just wasting bullets, if you know how to use the mechanic effectively just like any role has its finer points of skill of which there is the option to learn to become more effective as a squad player.

Sorry, I just don't believe suppression has ever been useful in a Battlefield game.
