I want to support this—this has been my exact experience as well in , specifically in Strikepoint.
The key issue for me isn’t just the queue itself—it’s that there’s no clear resolution or fallback when the queue stalls. I’ve had multiple instances where I’m waiting while spots are clearly opening on the server, but the system never pulls me in.
What made this work better in previous Battlefield titles was the flexibility:
- If a squad was full, you could still join the opposing team
- You could get into the match quickly instead of sitting idle
- It actually made playing with and against friends more engaging
Right now, the system feels overly restrictive, and it ends up creating unnecessary friction just trying to group up.
From a player perspective, this leads to:
- Waiting in queues that don’t resolve
- Backing out of sessions instead of staying engaged
- Less incentive to join friends mid-match
One thing I’d strongly reinforce from the original post is the need for a fallback option. Even a simple toggle like:
- “Join any available team”
This would completely solve most of this frustration.
At the end of the day, this is less about matchmaking and more about the social experience. When it’s hard to join friends, people are more likely to stop playing altogether rather than wait.
This feels like a small adjustment that could have a big impact on player retention and overall experience.
Appreciate this being looked at.
