Shotguns are still somewhat broken

They really seem quite weak in CQB, but often one shot at extreme distances.

  • What I've noticed so far is that the hipfire crosshair is misleading, the actual spread is usually about half the size of the crosshair. So you really need to aim quite a bit more than you'd initially think. Similarly, unless you're like 20+ meters away from the target, any laser sight is misleading as well, as it isn't centered to your actual aimpoint.

The reason why you're hitting more at range, is because you're using ADS, which does lower the spread of the pellets quite significantly, making it far more accurate. Though I do agree that the overall experience with shotguns has been somewhat inconsistent at times.

  • There is an ammo type that makes it shoot a single large shot which makes it behave more like a sniper.

  • The point with the crosshair seems plausible. Often my crosshair is only half on the enemy, and then I seem to deal almost no damage.
So the crosshair needs some fixing!
