I agree, I noticed it in some videos and it kinda looks ridiculous.

i like to play sniper ! i hope have more bullet cause sniper is not easy to play
Scope glint is only visible when looking at it, if I have an enemy sniper in my back I won't see his glint. It should be a trade-off in my opinion. The famous rock-paper-scissors that Battlefield is known for. What I'd like to see is different kind of weapon builds that will give you different kind of advantages and downsides. And this is actually how it works in BF2042 currently.
So for example if you want to go full stealth with a sniper, you should get a combo of suppressor that will keep you off the minimap and reduces sound and muzzleflash visibility, and on top of that an ammo type that does have no tracer visibility. The counter of all these benefits should be reduced damage and no one hit kill except for headshots. And to complete it if you want to get rid of scope glint you should equip a scope with less than 6x magnification.
And if you want to go full power long range sniper, you will need a different muzzle attachment that will make you audible and visible, in combination with an ammo type that packs a punch but leaves tracers, and scopes of 6x or more magnification that produce glint. The benefit of this should be one hit kill on headshot, and upper torso shots within a certain range.
Oh and we need a decent killcam, so that if you decide to go full ninja and kill me I at least should get a chance to change my loadout to the same to countersnipe and get my revenge if you're not smart enough to relocate.- ArlinaFTW25 days agoNew Traveler
I say the bullet trail should be removed, not the glint.

For me I started mp gaming with Halo so personally I'm just too used to there always being a trail. The way I see it it actually rewards people who can properly line up and land shots. If you kill the guy, then he has no chance to find you and retaliate, and trail would do nothing as the zoom on killer system would give you away anyhow.
In a manner of speaking I think people are gonna realize that the trail just brings out the skill gap further with snipers and perhaps they may want to do other things if it isnt panning out for em.
The point I'm trying to make is not about glint, or bullet trail, it's about having the right balance and availability of choice to the player.
You should be able to remove bullet trail by selecting specific ammo, but then there should be a downside to maintain the balance. That downside should be reduced damage so that you can only have a one hit kill on headshots with that ammo.
We don't need people camping the outer sides of the map who can beam people with one shot in the body from across the map and meanwhile remain completely undetected to me or my team. Scope glint is one part of detection, sound is another, but if suppressors are used and the sniper is positioned on the side of me or in my back I won't see the glint and then a tracer would be the only clue. As Chris_Hawkner correctly describes, if you land your shots you already have your reward by means of a kill. If you miss you should not be further rewarded by keep taking pot shots without revealing your position in some way.
If tracers is the best way to do this remains debatable, but there needs to be some kind of discouragement to keep people from camping the same spot without consequences.

Exactly. The trails are just another form of the tracer which we've used for years as is. Discourage missing, discourage shots into crowds/squads. Focus on getting the perfect shot on a nice lone but key target. That or like idk shoot the guy in a crowd and then leg it to a new spot unless you wanna get utterly nailed by the hornets nest you kicked.
Just means less camping in cheese spots and makes it more accessible and balanced. On accessibility the system kinda helps there too to an extent. Deaf folks and the like now have a much better visual indicator that they are shot at by a sniper instead of having to rely on the crack and report of the bullet going by. I'm pretty hard of hearing so I at least can crank the volume to compensate but for the full deaf homies this can be a lowkey godsend especially when any sounds they could hear may get drowned out by the combat noises as is.
