SOFLAM as a worthwhile gadget
With the SOFLAM (or at least an equivalent) confirmed for Battlefield 6, I'd like to suggest changes to their mechanics to encourage their use over other gadgets in certain scenarios.
Firstly, since the SOFLAM designation is heavily reliant on other teammates to produce tangible score benefits for the designator, I'd like to see score awarded to the designator once the target is fully designated. Somewhere in the 20-30 score range would seem reasonable. This would be to reward the designator for their use of the device, even if no one utilises the designation.
Secondly, allow designated targets to be locked onto from a greater distance than otherwise possible. Note that this does not mean that the SOFLAM itself should be able to designate from a greater distance away, just that designated targets can be locked onto by other weapon systems from farther away. Somewhere in the +100 to +200 meter range seems reasonable.
Thirdly, only have SOFLAM designated targets lockable within line of sight. This is more for balance than anything else. If the weapon has line of sight on the designated target, it should be able to lock, if it does not have line of sight on the designated target, it should not be able to lock. I'm aware LOAL exists in real life but in my view it should not be implemented in-game.
