Some general feedback on the game's pacing

Hello all!

I've been faithfully testing out the Open Beta, as it just released today for everybody. I am very, very genuinely impressed. It feels like Battlefield, it truly does. Squat-based system is back, and so is levolution, bigger than ever. Gunplay is tight and crisp, proper teamwork is back, but, I do have a small issue personally.

The pacing of the game. It is a bit too fast-paced, a bit too quick, not gritty enough. I remember how slow and tactical Battlefield 4  played, and it rewarded you for being calculated and precise. I would like you, DICE, to slow the game down, a small bit, so it doesn't risk turning into a hero shooter. Also, the TTK (time to kill), it's fast. If that could also be slowed down by a small amount, it would make the game a bit more balanced.

It is only an Open Beta, but launch day is not too far off. Tweak these small things, and it will definitely feel more like Battlefield.

Kind regards.

    >damage counter is needed because people gets revive a it looks like you didn't do anything

    >call uav looks like a copy and paste from call of duty and it's glitches. It should be like more like a stealth radio like in the "tears of the sun" call ina UAV > we should be able to resupply from your kills or maybe taking or kill's class would do it but I don't like taking a random trash set up

     > time to kill bad, maybe it was a fully upgraded weapons felt like instant death and I had no chance of escape and definitely not counter with a head shot

     >I don't like color pallet of the game, it blends too much >snippers glint is horrible

     > I cant see nothing far out so i just used smoke for snippers so I guess it isn't that bad it is still bad when the environment blends in so much but maybe that's the effect of camouflage if it works properly

    >I notice in dark places i cant see **bleep** either because there is a mechanic of blindness going dark to light and vice-versa. I don't like this.

I notice the spawn beacons visually and by sound you cant notice it in a chaos environment which makes sense. >Fire stuntlocking is bull**bleep**, get it out.

    >I think rpg's are fine because snippers will destroy you if you peak for more than 1.5 second. if in every game I'm in guarantee team mates that would actually supress snippers i wouldn't mind the fast rpg's. >double primary means nothing to me because they can only use one at a time and tuning down the shotgun will fix the problem like dying from a shot to the arm or leg. Chest should be 80 arm 10 meaning if i get cut in both arm and torso thats 90 damage and the head is unquestionably 100% damage

I couldn't agree more with you.  This exactly, just these small tweaks will make it so much better, and feel even more like Battlefield.

  • You think BF4 was "slow and tactical"? Are you sure you remember it correctly? it wasn't tactical nor slow. TTK is fine as it is. It's slightly faster than older BF games, but it's not as fast as hardcore rules. It's a nice balance, IMO.

Well, maybe I phrased myself a bit incorrectly, but it did have a more grounded feel to it. This right here? It's treading on hero shooter territory, and that ain't Battlefield. I guess it's a subjective topic, and I do welcome all points of views, hence, that's what an Open Beta is for.
