Weapon attachments unlocking, Can the developer please answer me?

Do game developers never play the games they create?

I don't know if they realize how hard it is to upgrade a weapon to unlock all attachments in Battlefield 6.

This afternoon I spent hours grinding in the portal, solely to unlock my weapon attachments as quickly as possible. Over three hours of gameplay, I averaged over 300 kills and 15K+ weapon experience per match. Yet after all that time, my weapon only leveled up from level 5 to 29. So I analyzed the settlement data from the last few matches.

In the portal, each BOT kill yields slightly over 50 weapon experience points. To level a weapon from 0 to 40 and unlock all attachments, you'd need to continuously kill approximately 3,000 bots. In my test, the weapon experience points gained by directly killing the player are twice that of the bot, which can reach 100 points. But this still means you need to kill other players more than 1500 times to unlock all the attachments of the weapon. Therefore, you'll need to spend a day or even several days to fully unlock a weapon. This is just ridiculous.

Currently, BF6 has more than 40 weapons, which is a disaster for some game achievement collectors. By comparison, in BF2042 you only need to kill 360 bots to unlock all the attachments for a weapon, and achieving this in the portal might only take ten minutes.

Another thing that almost ruins the entire gaming experience is that many weapons now require completing pre-mission challenges before they can be unlocked and used. Did the game developers actually attempt to complete these challenges themselves during internal testing?

maybe bot farming needed to be nerfed while people actually playing against real people are earning attachments more deservedly.

Playing against real players earns twice as much weapon experience as playing against bots. But in my testing, you still need to kill 1,500 other players to unlock all the attachments for a weapon. Assuming you're a top-tier player who consistently gets 50 kills in a 30-minute match, you'll need to play 30 matches to unlock all the attachments, which takes 15 hours. With over 40 weapons currently in Battlefield 6, that totals 600 hours. And while you're grinding to unlock attachments for these weapons, the game keeps adding new ones. You might think, “I'll just stick to one weapon forever,” but that's practically impossible. Most players always want to try new things and take on new challenges.

  • Update:
My friend ran another test. After unlocking the M4A1, he played exclusively with that weapon in multiplayer. After 5 and a half hours, he went from level 0 to level 25. At that point, he hadn't even gotten a suppressor attachment.
In the most criticized COD21, five hours is sufficient to unlock a weapon's full attachments and all skins—including those for Zombies.

  • I agree with this sentiment, the current weapon progression feels far too slow. It also discourages players from experimenting with different weapons, since most will just stick to the M4A1 or their preferred choice. I’d recommend bringing back a progression system similar to BF2042 or BF4, which felt more balanced and rewarding.
