Steam account unlinked by Hacker

My EA account got hacked, hacker unlinked my steam account and linked to his. I reset everything but can't link back to my original Steam account, got 365 days restriction ( WTH). I bought Battlefield 6 and all passes on Steam. If I link to a different EA account for this Steam account, will I lose my Battlefield progress? Including the Battle Pass?

    Hi CallCIA,

Sorry to hear your account was compromised and the Steam link was changed.

I wouldn’t recommend linking your Steam account to a different EA Account just to get around the linking restriction. Battlefield progress and content are tied to the EA Account where they were earned, so linking Steam to a different EA Account may result in losing access to that progress, Battle Pass content, and other items.

Since the unlinking happened while the account was compromised, please make sure your EA Account is fully secured first:

What to do if your EA Account was hacked

You can also review the account-linking restrictions here:

    Troubleshoot EA Account unlinking issues

If you still can’t reconnect the original Steam account because of the waiting period, select Contact us at the bottom of the guide and explain that the link was changed while the account was compromised.

You can also use this webform if needed.

As ElliotLH mentioned, please make sure to have the relevant information and evidence ready before contacting the Support Team.

Please avoid making any further account-linking changes for now. I hope you’re able to get the original Steam account linked back without affecting your Battlefield progress.

  • Hi CallCIA,

Your best option is to contact EA Help so that they can change the email back to yours. If you use the Contact Us button at the end of the guide below, you should be able to initiate the process. However, keep in mind that they will need to confirm ownership and will ask you security questions, so it's a good idea to have as much information about the account available to you as possible.

    https://help.ea.com/en/articles/ea-account/secure-hacked-account/

After the email address has been corrected, EA Help should be able to initiate the appeal process to find out if the ban can be revoked.
