Suggestion: Make the subclasses/training paths more individual and unique.
Though I have a long list of ideas to make the different class-paths more unique and feel like they have a dedicated purpose outside of the 4 levels of class active abilities, and stand out more in battles, I'm gonna start "small" with it in a manner that is easy for developers to implement for a feeling of community servicing and dedication to the players.
The first step I would suggest is to give the different training paths different Signature Weapons, and not just have it for the meta-class.
For instance, the Spec Ops path for Recon would make perfect sense to give Carbines as the Signature Weapon, and is one of the training paths that would greatly benefit from more dedicated functions and gadgets focused on the Spec Ops nature of the training path.
The deeper the efforts are made to make the different paths feel unique, the more people will appreciate them and the more it will make the game feel like it has more content with less development resources having to be used.
If this thread gets any traction, I'll go deeper into the topic, as I have quite a lot of ideas for multiple of the equipment slots of the classes, appearance options, as well as gadgets etc that are subclass/training path specific. This would be something that emphasizes the game's heritage back to games like Battlefield 2 with it's more specialized classes and how awesome they felt to play when you played to the role of the class. Just like how there was the dedicated anti-tank, and the engineer (both having the same general core to them) but the combat engineer having the ability to repair map elements that could be destroyed (like bridges etc), adding considerable depth to gameplay with relatively minor functions on a grand scale. This also allows for varying XP gained for different actions done so the different paths could be rewarded more by playing to the path, where something like Fire Support could be more proficient with mortar and have more XP rewarded for using it than Combat Medic.
These types of things would go a long way in showing the developers really care about the community and the monolithic heritage the franchise has, and remembering its history.
