No, what made the titles meaningless are the ones that exploited the bot & AFK farms, isn't it weird that you are the second person that complains about this, it's their first post on the forum and both of your forum names are untraceable to your game stats. What is it to you what rank or title someone else has? And on top of that you would expect to receive compensation! Be happy if you unlocked everything and don't try to restrict others that have a family, a job, responsibilities in having fun with their game.
I think I am the first person to complain about this, stats are untraceable because I logged in via steam and that interacts in a funny way. DutchWolf without the 114 is my current BF tag. I've got plenty of hours on BC, BC2, 3, 4, the WW1-one, 2042 and BF6, so not some COD-tourist if that was implication.
First of all it doesn't matter what ranks or titles anyone else has.
Second I don't expect compensation.
Third I have a family, and a pretty intense job.
The point is challenges have to be challenging to actually be rewarding/gratifying. The ask is not to "restrict" but to actually make meaningful, like it was before. Does that negatively impact some other players? No, except for the ones that want to be handed everything for free. They can buy DLC for that.
The idea of separating gameplay items from challenges is a good one imo, or move those to the "initiation" challenges - which should be "easy" - and just put the cosmetics in the other challenges.
Also, on the what defines hard - yes most of them are a grind that you will get eventually...but the point is not necessarily that it needs to be technically difficult to pull off. Having to grind a lot for you "engineer specialist" means you actually invested time and effort into playing that class...sure you can still suck at it, but you did "work" on it...rather than just play 5 games for the unlock and then switch back to whatever you main.
