I am furious that they are catering to the streamers and all the vets... my first battlefield game so playing the normal modes sometimes is no fun at all for me. I work alot and don't have time to put much hours in and the portal game mode like hardcore breakthrough was a nice break from sweaty lobbies and helped with ny struggle to level things up. It also ensures I have fun after hours of not having fun. You might as well spit in the face of every casual gamer or new player by listening to these players that have all the time in the world to play and are really good at the game. They have all that advantage but yet still cry. I was really hoping I would be playing this for a long time however there are a couple of games coming out like arc raiders and cod so I probably will not play battlefield again.
Mate, I am a battlefield vet from way back in the day!, and I can assure you that this change has been absolutely appalling. Simply put, DICE promised full xp for using official rules and modes in Portal and thats what they should do! all the bot lobbys should rightfully be shut down if they have utilised higher than normal health for the players vs bots, or even like in some modes where the bots dont have a gun at all. That is not in the spirit of what most real gamers are trying to do.
if you have BACKFILL on with no password protection, and no modification to anything such as health, movement speeds, loadouts (aside from open or closed weapons) then there should be NO XP penalty.
What they should do is completely remove bots from portal and normal multiplayer (they only added bots due to the 128 player games in 2042) and give everyone a solo/coop mode with either its own watered down progression or with everything already unlocked.
I honestly think they thought doing a campaign this time would keep pve players happy.
Yeah I know its not all of you and I agree with everything you have said mate.
That´s what´s p*ssing me off, instead of nerfing bot servers that use "custom logic" for increased XP etc, they nerfed every server that uses bots. I also played on bot-filled servers most of the time, way less chaotic, more flow, hit-reg actually works even against other players.
Where did they promise FULL XP? They promised full progression, which you have, you can unlock everything vs bots. Getting Full XP vs bots only is totally unfair if you then play multiplayer later.
Why is it unfair to get full xp/progression?
Unfair is people who have more time to grind having better gear than casual/new gamers.
Why would anyone care how people get their gear, it's supposed to be a skill vs skill game I thought.
It's like saying "i dont have as much time as you in world of warcraft, so you should make the game easier and faster for me so i can catch up in levels."
So is the fact I can only play about 10 hours a week compared to people that play all day everyday. It makes it fair to have it in the game. Read the post
