I keep seeing the reason for the Portal xp being removed is too many bot farming servers.
Why is it bad to farm bots for attachments, I don't understand.
People are getting unlocks faster? So. Why does anyone care.
People have higher K/D's on their profile? So. Why does anyone care? Stop bots from counting as kills, easy fix.
There is obviously a reason people are bot farming, and THAT seems to be the issue: Insanely long grind to unlock attachments for each weapon, which is how you build guns for competitive play.
Remove the need for bot farming, and you significantly reduce the server issue.
Just removing the bot farms will significantly reduce your player base.
I don’t understand your desire to unlock attachments with bots but I understand your point. However, I only came to this because I have now lost a major value in the game because of bot farmers. If you want attachments go out and play for them like everyone else.

For me, the reason is time. Weapon attachments increase your power, creating an unfair advantage over those that don't have them. The amount of time people have to play varies, so the power level of each player now varies. To get back on even footing, people were resorting to playing against bots - which I'm learning is different to bot farms - but that same need is at the core of both.
If you can grind for power, it naturally creates an imbalance, and people will obviously use any means at their disposal to get more power faster. Then it gets much harder to "play for them like everyone else", because everyone else has an advantage over you, and you'll spend a lot more time dead, making it take longer to level up to a fair fight. - DANGERGOOSE14 months agoSeasoned Ace
It takes 3000 kills to max out a gun, that is ridiculous. For reference BF4 required 510 kills. If they reduced the XP needed to max out a gun to the equivalent of 510 kills you'd already see less bot farms. Regardless, the non farm servers running official experiences with backfill should have full progression. My own server has never been full, most it got to was 18 players. Backfill makes sure there is enough action, I don't want to play 5v5 Rush which is what I'd be doing most of the time if backfill weren't on.
