Aim Assist Is Out of Control in Crossplay

I’m on PC, mouse and keyboard, and I’m getting tired of losing fights to console players who have aim assist doing half the work for them. It is not a small thing anymore. It is strong enough that it feels like they are getting a built in aimbot.

On PC, if I miss, I miss. I have to actually track, flick, correct, control recoil. On controller right now, the game is helping track the target. So you end up in these gunfights where you can tell the other player is not actually aiming that well, the game is just locking them onto you. That is not skill, that is the assist doing the heavy lifting.

What this turns into is free kills for controller players. They can ego peek, swing wide, or run straight at you and the game will keep them on target. Meanwhile the PC player has to be perfect. That is backward. The input that requires more effort is the one getting punished.

This is why people are mad about it. It makes playing on PC in crossplay lobbies miserable. You load in, you do everything right, and you still lose to someone whose aim is being corrected by the game. After a while it does not feel competitive, it just feels rigged toward controller.

So here is what needs to happen.

Give PC an option to turn off crossplay with console. Let PC players fight other PC players who also have to aim for real.

or

If crossplay is staying on, then tone down aim assist in mixed lobbies or give PC some kind of equivalent help. You cannot have one input getting sticky aim and the other one getting nothing.

I am not saying remove aim assist from console entirely. Console needs some help, that is fine. The problem is when that assist starts beating actual mouse aim. That is where it becomes unfair.

Right now it really does feel like console is getting a free aimbot and PC has to sweat for every kill. That is not balance. EA needs to fix it or at least give us the choice to opt out.

Come on man. The top players in almost every match are PC players. I play Mouse and Keyboard and I feel like I have an advantage over controller players.

  • I’m on PS5.

I’ve always hated aim assist. I turn all assists off in any shooter game I play. I can’t stand the interference of assists.

I made servers in 2042 and the first thing I did was remove aim assists and kill cam so everyone was on a level playing field.

I’ve done the same in my BF6 servers. Removed all assists.

I will never understand why people use aim assist. You’d think people would want to learn and get better themselves rather than have the game do some of the hard work.

I’m the same when I play racing games. I turn all assists off. Otherwise what’s the point in trying to play competitively.

Sad thing is, most people in BF6 use aim assists. And you can feel it too.

Please, PLEASE, as a console player I ask you to plug in a controller and see for yourself. THERE IS NO AIM ASSIST! There is no snap-lock to target. There is no auto-tracking when players move. The only "assist" that is remotely noticeable is the reticle will SOMETIMES slow down near a target when ads. You know what I notice? PC players always at the top of the leader board with dozens of more kills than console players. Or how about EVERY SINGLE TIME I get beam, insta-killed by some slide-cancelling try hard sweat, IT'S A PC PLAYER! The speed at which you guys can switch between targets and control recoil is an unfair advantage in itself.
