They need to find a compromise. Since the nerf, the portal is pretty much dead in the EU region. Which sucks, cos I liked it for persistent servers.
Personally I think disabled challenge progression, but still keep XP progression. This way people can't use it to boost difficult challenges, ruining the reward for those who achieved something difficult. Still keeping XP gains thou, will still reward you for playing portal. Who actually cares if someone boosts a few weapon attachments? Everyone can get them just from playing the game anyway, and there is already official bot matches now aswell.
