The state of Bipods in BF6

I’m an avid LMG player and have always loved playing support and laying down suppressing fire for my squad and team.

Ever since 2142 I’ve picked this to be my most enjoyable play style, and I know I’m not alone! Having a bipod that is effective makes this a far more enjoyable experience.

Bipods in BF6 sadly are quite awkward and I feel need a bit of a rework. Personally I feel the way they worked in BF1 was perfect. But at the least I feel as though having an auto deploy feature as long as you have toggled the bipod (much like a laser or torch) is what we need.

Only being able to deploy the bipod after ADS is clunky and I have noticed that the deploy is very inconsistent in BF6. Especially as LMGs tend to have a long ADS time this can become very cumbersome when wanting to quickly deploy and start shooting.

Some surfaces refuse to allow the bipod to deploy, ledges and windows have all given me issues, in places I think a bipod would be effective and I’d assume they would work easily.

It may seem like a small issue, but it’s at the core of LMG gameplay for support and would also help out DMRs and rifle players too.

Please up this so it can get some recognition !
Thanks :)

Just to add to this idea too, in other BF games there are LMGs that were highly inaccurate but had massive belts or magazines that would also have high fire rate. I think of the MG42 or the parabellum in BF1. If you saw these shooting you had to either get cover, flank, or spot for snipers/dmr and they were a huge threat. Their effectiveness came from being a stationary position

idk LMGs just feel like a bit of meme, they don’t scare like they used to, and because of this the “support gunner” role is effectively obsolete. Having a well positioned LMG gunner supporting his/her squad was a real thing and kind of forced people to approach the fight tactically to some extent, on both sides to. Enemy’s would have to consider what I listed above and the friendlys also sort of knew that if there was a MG set up at the objective holding a lane of fire that keeping them from being flanked was a great defensive strategy.

Just a tad sad because the modern era really gives so much potential for this play style to be so epic but definitely fell flat
