There shouldn't be a skip revive option while down.

Have it like battlefield 4, where when you go down, you stay in that stance for a short time or until someone revives you, then give the option to skip it once you are alive again. That way we support players get to revive and you still have the option to redeploy once you are back on your feet.

I can't even begin to explain how annoying it is for me to run half way across the map to revive someone who still has 10 seconds left on their bleedout timer, but once I'm a foot from them, skips to redeploy as I charge the paddles.

Change it, make it work in favor of the medics that are trying to keep you in the fight.

  • Disclaimer: I'm the type of person that actually does wait for medics, most of the time.

Yet I think this is a spectacularly bad idea for a few different reasons:

    1. I skip a revive if I am under the impression that there's no possible way that a medic could safely revive me. If there's 10 enemies around me, I don't want to lure a medic into getting ambushed.
    2. Respawning may cost a single ticket, but it does allow you to quickly reposition yourself to the most effective location on the map. If I have to wait for a medic to revive me in a location where I can't be all that effective, I am wasting a lot of time that could be spent on capturing objectives.
    3. You'd just be waiting for an eternity of no medic comes.
    4. Running halfway across the map is a waste of time, even for a revive.

Instead, I'd suggest a different solution. If a medic who is within 25 meters and has specifically marked you for a revive, the option to skip a revive temporarily is disabled. That way, you're not just waiting for a random medic, but you're waiting for somebody that has consciously chosen to come for you.

Agreed. I think the timer should be the same as the respawn time. Obviously skipping instantly still makes you wait the same amount of time, so the bleed out shouldn't allow skipping until the time is up.

You can switch classes, adjust your loadout and chose to spawn at a different objective and get back in the game quicker if you do all that while the re-spawn timer is running after you give up. There's good reasons to give up on getting revived depending on the situation.

  • Quite sure the post only refers to skipping revive. Bleed out and revive request would still be available. If you want to die quicker you would just bleed out
