Tired of the 'unpolished' (AAA) games
What happend to game developing?
I know for publishers , they see it as a money maker.
And many (passionate) developers are pushed into overdrive to release the game within a certain deadline.
And we all know rushing things is mostly not working out great.
It's a sad era for gaming in general in comparison with 2 decades ago. Not to say there aren't any good games out there offcourse. (watching mostly at indie games)
But still this era of games and the way most of them are, is sad. (again in comparison)
Then i thought,
In the TV-Industrie, we have the razzie awards, so why not have something similar for games?
I'll bet, this will push the now (to low) 'standard' they get away with these days, to a higher level.
They get away with; broken games on release, false advertising, broken promises, deaf to the community, pushing unnecessary features on users, etc,....
While searching on google about something similar i found a topic on reddit, from 9 years ago,
but still valid to this day. Best game awards vs Worst game awards
Thoughts anyone?
I think this should be a thing for games.
If you can participate and earn best game of the year, you should be able to earn worst game of the year to.
(worst dlc, worst map-design, worst audio, worst moneytization, worst user-interface, etc,...)
I know many will say, they don't want bad publicity and that's why this doesn't exist for games,
But so do moviemakers and actors, so i don't see the issue for not having it for games.
