Somehow I can't imagine myself getting "old" and thinking "I don't have the skills to play PvP" in online games. There's people well in their elderly years that have learned to play Battlefield. I think it's just a mentality thing. You probably won't be as snappy as when you were 16, but it's certainly not impossible to adapt the way you play. As I get older, I rely less on my reaction speed and ability to make fast actions, but I do try and improve my positioning, aim and decision making.
Even back in Battlefield 1942, there wasn't really a proper PvE experience. Yes you'd have bots, but they were dumb as bricks. The game wasn't designed as a proper PvE experience. The fact that they can screw up the Battlefield single player campaign and nobody really cares, means that people regard this game as a multiplayer-first experience.
Nothing has substantially changed over the years, bots have always been and still are an afterthought in Battlefield 6. So, it always surprises me when people buy this game just to play against bots. I personally don't care whether you play against bots or whether you gain progression from doing so.
However, I don't think that it makes much sense for Portal server browser to be filled to the brim with XP farm servers. Nor do I think a progression system makes much sense when you can just exploit bots to complete it several times faster than if you were playing against real players. It also doesn't make much sense to have a statistics page that counts bot kills the same as player kills.
For these reasons, it doesn't make much sense to me for bots to give the same XP as players do. I don't think people are entitled to full progression at all. I think a limited progression system is fine. You should still be able to unlock everything over time, but it shouldn't be any faster than if you were playing against real players. Alternatively, a co-op experience that's separate from the main multiplayer environment, with all attachments unlocked is fine as well.
As far as what they've advertised goes, I agree they should be more careful with what they end up promising to the player. That said, EA's the kind of company that's defined by what they do, not by what they say.

There a not able to see a difference.
I am totally finde to get the same attachments for killing 10 bots equivlant of one player. But my hot take is, that they are not able to make this adjustments.
They are in full nuke mod now
