I could understand if this was CoD. Even I got annoyed when we started seeing cartoon characters and demons from the Diablo game and what not. It got really ridiculous, but so far the skins in this game have all been appropriately themed.

Even in battlefield 3 you had different skins you can change to(camos) you're asking them to focus on gameplay when they have multiple studios that work on specific things for example(gameplay, cosmetics, bugs, cheater hunters etc).  You're asking for an option that turns off or filters a player into a default when they're running a skin they've paid for? I just fell out the chair laughing brother😂

Please explain your true complaint.... elaborate because this post sounds a bit silly. Disable cosmetics? What exactly do you mean?

There's literally nothing flashy about them....

It's a slippery slope and they are indeed getting flashier, little by little.  The issue is, EA to continue monitizing will have to come up with flashier and flashier skins, so eventually we will end up like fortnight/cod.  Maybe not this go around, or even next, but it will happen unless EA recognizes that there is a good portion of players who don't mind flash, but also want to stick to originality.

Where is that middle ground, I don't know, but I do recognize the trend moving to flashier and less orginality.

Still, its a game, but please don't forget about what makes the game great and that is originality in the uniforms.

As much as I would like that too, you, me and everyone else on these forums knows this is not going to happen.

BF3’s monetization was built on DLC that had to be paid for, whether it being via a premium pass or separate DLC. I have always bought premium and never spent a single cent on cosmetics. And yes paid DLC could split the playerbase, and they will use this excuse to defend their choice for liveservice.

The real reason of course always is the money. We have liveservice since BFV, and trust me, if this would have brought any less revenue than a paid DLC model it would have been abandoned already.

Now to your request for a toggle to switch off cosmetics. This too will never happen. The entire businesses model around liveservice and cosmetics is build around the FOMO principle. Other players NEED to see the skins so they are tempted to buy them for themselves.

You, me and a lot of others would immediately toggle off the cosmetics, resulting in less potential customers. The EA board will never allow this to happen.

They are already wasting a ton of "developer resources" on pushing out crappy skins, I would gladly pay extra once for a simple option to turn off those flashy crappy cosmetics. At least over 1300 people agree with me in that reddit post.

Sorry, but I still don't see the issue. Even in that screenshot, all the skins are aesthetically clean and military stylized.

Nothing severe enough is wrong.  I wouldn't want to see development resources committed to resolving a low priority issue that doesn't affect actual gameplay.
