TTK&TTD| It’s hard to kill a soidler

This is a real problem that is often talked about

Yes, the game clearly has this problem, which is very alarming. There is still a little bit of time left before the official full version of the game is released, and it would be really bad if this problem is left unattended. Main request - [1) The official TTK&TTD of the game should be realistic. 2) If the first request is not fulfilled, then the second request - add Hardcore Mode to the main menu]

The constant comparisons to COD really detract from any discussions, because they entice people to discuss feelings, not facts.

It takes a lot of bullets to kill a person

TTK is fundamentally not about the amount of bullets. It's about time. Shooting 6 bullets at 17 damage at 600 RPM theoretically has roughly the same TTK as shooting 3 bullets at 34 damage at 300 RPM. The Battlefield 6 beta had a really fast TTK where many weapons were well below 300 milliseconds.

Weapons like the M4A1 in Battlefield 6 had a maximum of 25 damage per bullet. That's 4 bullets to kill, perhaps 5 or 6 if there's significant damage drop off at range. At a 1.3x headshot multiplier that would turn into 32,5 damage per shot. Still requiring  about 4 bullets to kill, but it would require less bullets to kill at range. Attachments that increase the headshot multiplier can reduce the amount of bullets to kill.

When I shoot a soldier, I feel like I’m shooting an armored tank. It takes far too many bullets to kill a soldier. Most of the time I have to empty a whole magazine to kill one soldier.

This is a skill issue. It never requires a whole magazine to kill a single soldier. If a standard mag contains about 30 bullets and you perhaps on average require about 5 bullets to kill, that means that you're only hitting 1/6th of your bullets. You should ask yourself why that is. Either you're not aiming well and you're missing most of your shots, or you don't compensate the recoil, or you don't let your spread reset and bullets fly off-center.

So here's a few tips:

• Aim center mass, for most people, in most situations, reliability beats going for headshots.
• Don't underestimate spread in Battlefield 6, bursting is required far more often that you'd think, even at close range.
• If you need more recoil consistency, consider going for a slower firing weapon with a high damage per bullet, like the SCAR-H.

It is not hard, in any way shape or form, to kill an enemy player in BF6. The TTK is on par with previous Battlefield titles. The current TTK in the game feels really good, but If anything the TTK is too fast.

I am very tired of this "veteran" vs new player argument, as if that makes your statement more true. I have played multiple previous Battlefield titles, but not all of them. I have also played a variation of other FPS games. That does not make your "experience" any more valid than me. 

Just by looking at the numbers the TTK in BF6 is objectively fast. It is not hard to kill. If you feel it is hard to kill I am afraid that is more a player problem, honestly. Just go to YouTube and find any video of gameplay of BF6 from a content creator's POV, and you will see how easy and fast they kill.

If all weapons would one shot kill to the head then this game would be impossible to balance. Why would you ever want to use a sniper if you can just headshot someone with an AR for a instant kill instead. 

I think you should rather play the "hardcore" modes and accept that the TTK is better for majority of the players as it is. 

Luckily I think the developers have said they have a lot of data on this topic, and are very happy with the current TTK.

Thanks for your input, but this isn’t about skill issue. I know how recoil, spread, and bullet drop work I’ve been playing Battlefield since the older titles and I’m familiar with how different weapon mechanics affect performance.

What I (and many veteran players) are pointing out is that the perception of TTK is as important as the numbers on paper. On a spreadsheet 4–5 bullets might sound fine, but in practice with spread, bloom, latency, hitreg issues, and the chaos of Battlefield-scale engagements, it often feels like you’re dumping far more into an enemy before they go down. That perception matters, because Battlefield always had a more grounded, weighty gunplay feel compared to COD. Right now it feels too much like COD spongey soldiers that take longer to kill.

Also, telling players they’re only hitting 1/6 of their shots is dismissive. Nobody is suggesting 100% accuracy at all times, but the TTK/TTD experience should still feel authentic and consistent. Veterans aren’t asking for “easy kills,” we’re asking for a kill system that feels true to Battlefield’s roots and more realistic combat pacing.

So yes, technically TTK = time, not bullet count. But in actual gameplay, bullet count directly shapes how players experience TTK. That’s why this discussion matters.

calling this a player problem is exactly why so many discussions around TTK go nowhere. This isn’t about me struggling to aim  it’s about how the game feels to play. Numbers on a spreadsheet can look fast, but in practice with spread, bloom, latency, and the scale of Battlefield’s chaos, the perception is very different.

Veteran vs. new player is not about superiority it’s about perspective. Veterans have a frame of reference from older titles. Battlefield always had a distinctive gunplay identity: lethal, weighty, and faster than COD, but without going full arcade. When that feel shifts, it’s noticeable, and it matters for the core identity of the series.

As for headshots: nobody is asking for ARs to insta kill across the board. The point is body shots currently feel too spongey. A balanced system can allow for quicker, more authentic body shot lethality without turning ARs into pseudo snipers. Hardcore mode is indeed an option, but the fact that so many veterans are asking for faster TTK in core modes should tell you something.

Developers having data is good, but data doesn’t always capture player experience. And if enough long term players are saying it feels off, then maybe it’s worth more than dismissing it as skill issue.

It's really embarrassing that the game developers's main goal is to please COD players. They don't listen to the Battlefield audience much :/

We can't adjust the TTK based on lack of performance. The (potential) TTK is still the same, even though recoil, spread and chaos might make it harder to maximize your damage output. It's weird how very many players seems to have no issue with killing fast (again, you can clearly see this if you look at videos of BF6 gameplay), while you ("and many veteran players") seems to struggle?

I am very well aware how previous Battlefield games feels compared to CoD. BF6 feels nothing like CoD (luckily). You should not even compare the two games, as it is not really a good argument to make. The current TTK in BF6 is more similar to previous BF titles than the changes you're suggesting about lowering the TTK. So, you are the one asking to change how a Battlefield game feels based on your own personal preferences, compared to previous titles.

Where do you get that from? I have seen some players stating again and again on the forums that the TTK is too slow, I have also seen (probably more) players saying the TTK is too fast. I can almost guarantee you that the majority of the player base prefer the TTK as it is now compared to a insanely fast TTK.. same way the majority of the player base will not prefer hardcore mode. I understand that some players like and prefer that experience, but don't force it on everyone else. 

The majority of players are not on the forums btw, and even if they were they would not be complaining about the TTK if they feel it is good as it is.

If the data is related to preferred TTK in the game, then yes, it does. I can't answer for what kind of data they have though. 

I can't even find player stats from the open beta for your user because it says "you didn't log enough data" btw.. which tells me you might be advocating for changes on the forum without even properly testing it yourself?
