Unfair Battle Pass Change Cost Me 1,070 Coins...

I’m having an issue with the Battle Pass and I’m hoping someone here has had a similar experience and can share how they handled it.
There’s been a lot of talk about players not receiving the 85 points needed to complete the pass, but my situation is a bit different.
Unfortunately, I assumed the “6 days to complete this pass” message meant the pass had already been active for a week and I’d missed some challenges because I wasn’t playing over the holidays. I didn’t realize the short timeframe was intentional.
I completed all available challenges and then used my Battle Points to buy the remaining levels. Then, suddenly, the developers changed it so that the final challenge would award players 85 Silver Points (enough to complete the pass). Which means that if i waited a few days before buying the levels, i would have gotten them anyway.
I’ve tried contacting EA Support, but I keep getting passed between advisors and no one can confirm anything or offer a clear answer.
Has anyone else experienced this? I very much doubt I’m the only one who “jumped the gun” on buying levels.
To be clear: I don’t normally buy levels. I usually play and grind challenges for the points. I let FOMO get the best of me here, but this still doesn’t feel fair, right?
