I think this is an issue for when enemies abandon a vehicle as you are killing them but you can’t tell the threat is no longer the vehicle but instead a soldier on the ground
You also see people destroy the vehicle instead of capturing it for your own team
They should just turn neutral
I hate wasting resources too, just like how you can lock onto a vacant vehicle or mounted weapon that has not been used with a MAS 148, I posted a discussion here the other day about it, locking onto a vehicle that was just abandoned, yeah it's fair to say that vehicle is still HOT, if you use a drone which has thermals and you see a soldier who goes prone and doesn't move you can see him go pale, which means he's cooling down & not as easy to spot, how the hell do we lock onto vehicles that are COLD ? I think a vehicle should only be red if the acceleration/turrets were recently used. This also means I actually think it is okay if a vehicle remains red after someone has left it. The way I see it, we shouldn't know by looking at a vehicle colour if someone is in it - the realism isn't there.

I also agree it needs to be made clear when the vehicle is abandoned, just like in previous games.
This has confused me a number of times in game...its like there is a grace period where the vehicle is red and perhaps can't be stolen...hate wasting resources trying to kill a vehicle for an enemy kill that ultimately doesnt even count.
