VPN/Proxy IP-hopping is crowding community servers worldwide — please enforce
Lately community servers have been getting crowded out by people using VPNs/proxies to rotate their IPs and hop across regions all day. Same players show up with a new IP every few minutes, grab the slots, sometimes even resell access, and some of them hop to other regions to pair this with cheats or dodge enforcement. It’s wrecking peak-time access for legit players.
EA’s own wording on this is pretty clear, so I’m putting the lines here:
“The EA app doesn’t support proxy servers. Using a proxy, IP filtering, or IP masking software can affect how your computer and your games connect. Disable these before jumping into the EA app and your games.”
“Don’t use a VPN. If you’re using a VPN, disconnect it to see if that helps fix your connectivity issues.”
User Agreement (Rules of Conduct): “Do not engage in any activity that is fraudulent, misleading, or abuses EA Services.”
Given what we’re seeing—rapid cross-country/ASN IP switches from the same device/behavior to occupy community servers—this looks exactly like abuse. Please check accounts with abnormal IP-hopping patterns targeting community servers and take action where appropriate (warnings/suspensions/bans).Community servers are getting farmed by IP rotation right now and it’s making them unplayable for the rest of us.
