What is up with battle royal

So I was playing a match with my boys and everything‘s going great final two squads. They had the high ground, but they were forced to push down to low ground where we were circle was as small as can be but then the other team never came out of the fire for about two minutes, and we died to the storm because there was no space left. Did they find a glitch or am I playing with a hacker who isn’t taking damage to the fire ring
