What the ping.

Why do I have 4-8 players in every match with at least 150 ping?  I've even had players over 180 ping in my matches and they never get kicked.  Actually had a guy with 2000 ping once.

What is the limit?  All I can say for certain is that it's far too high.  200 ping might have been ok 20 years ago when I was playing counter-strike and every server said "<200 ping or kick" but now it's just not acceptable.

These players are also a total guess on their skill.  Some are 50/1 and shooting me through walls, some are 1/50 and die without ever shooting a bullet.

For the servers sake, player experience, and just because it's common sense for gaming now, lower the level it considers as "too high" in relation to connection.  These players are dragging the entire game down just because they think they're more important than all the other players that they are affecting.  If they keep trying it, ban the account.

  • because they are all cheating.  every 130+ping person i come across all snap aim at you and kill you in 2-3 bullets.

i just immediately report every single lag cheater and to add to that seems a ton of other people have started cheating now this week.

games just in the worse state it has eve been in.

Nope. And really, really nope. Higher ping will not change anything about your TTK. It WILL give you peaker advantage, but will come with a bunch of disadvantages as a cost. High pings can end anywhere in the scoreboard, I've seen some get to the top, but many are in the bottom half.

The vast majority of those players come from two sources:

    • Those in regions that have lost their servers, whether they were closed due to lack of players or due to the ongoing conflict in the ME. They have bought the game, they get to play, and it's DICE's decision to throw them on far away servers.
    • Those in Asia that don't want to play on Asian servers. The main argument put forward by those people is the much higher rate of cheating on servers there.

Of note, it's very hard to identify the impact of those players on the general gameplay. As far as I can tell, there's very little if at all ping compensation in BF6, so you're playing against someone who's going to have some milliseconds on you when they play really aggressively, but in reverse will be late by the same amount in many cases.
