Whats the go with Pax appearances?

Whats with everything with how Pax looks? 

Highlighter / pastel camouflage colours? Geometrical patterns? Their appearance look like someone who's about to go place speedsoft. And i thought camouflage was supposed to blend you into the environment, not make you stand out?

Can someone educate me? Do these colours and pattern have any military backing?

I find looking at Pax characters an eye sore.
