What's up with the bots in Portal mode, EA?

Hello EA!!!!

What's up with the bots in Portal mode, EA? My friend and I only bought the game because of the Portal and the bots. We're both over 50 and we're fed up with heart-pounding battles. We already did this in Battlefield 2042. We hosted a server in Portal with 32 vs 32 bots and had a blast. We don't mind getting moderate XP. But to completely disable the bots and reduce XP to a minimum in BF6 is a joke. My friend and I are Battlefield veterans; we experienced the early days with BF1942, BF2, then later BFBC2, BF3, BF5, BF1, and most recently BF2042 because of the Portal with the bots, and now BF6. We love Portal mode with the bots. Just because some players were farming XP doesn't mean you have to shut down the bots and completely reduce XP. Why not handle XP points in the portal with bots, like in BF2042? It's up to each individual how they play, isn't it? Either against humans or against bots, right? And invest in servers so there are no more error messages in portal mode.

Totally Agree. But the thing is also: EA/Dice promissed full progression with bots. In my opinion, they should make good on that promisse. More of us over 50 bought the game because of it. Now we have virtually nothing. Casual breakthrough is nice, but not what was promissed.

You menioned bumping up server capacity for Portal. That is way more what should happen. And lower the (sometimes) insane high unlock demands for challenges and the like. This will dampen the urge to XP farm.

But I also think that, If you want to farm XP, go ahead. Hear me out on this, please. If you are going to farm XP, you are going to fool yourself and hurt your game enjoyment in the long run. Why ? If you unlock everything so fast, what joy is there left in playing the game ? And don't think that the unlocks will make you better on the PvP battlefield. They will not ! You woudn't stand a chance against real, experienced PvP players who earned the unlocks the normal way by playing the game. These real players will wipe the floor with you. Their stats are real. Your stats are hollow, close to worthless because you farmed them without game experience. And eventually you will walk away from the game beaten and unhappy, and it is your own doing

I think this is THE way, or at least a good way to let the XP farms die out by themselfs

Real PvP players never have to worry about their stats meaning nothing because of XP progression against bots. It's the other way around: PvP stats gatherd by PvP are always backed up by the player who's behind it. They will be good and always be better than players who got them through PvE bots. The scoreboard in a PvP match will then always reflect that. And that still should not be a problem. PvE players will probably hang out more in Portal servers than in regular multiplayer servers anyway. And then, you delivered on your promise: Play the game as you want. And then Portal will become the creative gameplay enviorment Battlefield Studios promissed

  • It is sad. I haven't boot up BF6 in over a week now. It's so unethical for a company to design an expensive game for people to play and then remove everything great about the game for casual players. It feels unfair because they took my money and I can't even player PvE anymore.
