I'd get class restrictions just to get you, and people like you, mad. Get off your high horse.

If your reason for supporting class restrictions is to try and get me and people like me mad, then you’re not arguing for balance or better gameplay, you’re just being petty. Battlefield’s design isn’t driven by spite; it’s a sandbox shooter built around freedom and player choice.
It’s hard to argue otherwise when EA themselves describe Battlefield as a sandbox. At that point, you’re not disagreeing with me you’re disagreeing with the people who made the game.

You can put the ping stat back on the scoreboard, I think it's in UI or HUD settings somewhere. I know I have it on!
I mean to each there own in terms of goal setting.
Generally, I look pretty good on the scoreboard regardless and just don't think about it. It's only when I'm getting really out-classed that it has an effect and I pay attention. None of that effect is conducive to me digging deep and trying to push harder.
I'm generally more than happy to try and face an overwhelming force, at least for the duration of a match. I don't like that the bad match follows me around.

They shouldn't limit the class, but just make using a sniper rifle harder. Being a sniper, as opposed to recon, should be a niche skill, but of course we can't have poor Jonny not being able to do something!

What needs to be done is for there to be a severe penalty to aiming when using sniper rifles/DMRs when firing from any other position but prone. All these self-proclaimed "pro" recon players are just quick scoping scrubs using an overpowered weapon as a bolt action assault rifle.

There used to be massive weapon sway when not prone and you had to 'hold your breath' for most shots, now you really don't need too - yes it's better if you do, but no way is it essential anymore

I am in no way being a smart xxx. I'm just trying to help. There were times in real life I laid in place 18 to 24 hours to get HVT. That's the job. Recon doesn't have assault weapons. Just a pistol. In reality compared to you, Recon will make far less points than you in a match because your kills are more frequent because of your constant engagements. Recon on the other hand needs to engage and move, engage and move. Points are far and in between sometimes. ROE will always change so it's easier to roll with the changes.

Yeah, I’d agree if they added heavier, higher-caliber rifles those should definitely have more sway and slower handling. But maybe it makes more sense to just tweak the aim-down-sights speed when not mounted, since the current snipers and DMRs aren’t that heavy and are actually pretty easy to handle. Plus, you’ve gotta consider the soldiers in-game are trained professionals, so they’d naturally handle and steady those rifles better than the average person anyway.

No matter what you think a sniper should be, forcing them to go prone would only make them camp more, not less. Your suggestion would only make things worse.
