Why can Console but not PC?

So Console can disable Crossplay and PC can't? This is one of the big reasons why I left CoD. This whole notion of catering to Consoles needs to stop. Give it to both or give it to none.

  • Hello!

The frustration you've expressed is shared by many PC players. The reason some games allow console players to disable cross-play while PC players can't is a design choice to address the competitive difference in input method. A mouse and keyboard offer a significant advantage over a controller, and by giving console nel net players the option to opt out, developers aim to protect that large player base from feeling at a disadvantage. This is a strategic compromise designed to maintain a healthy and viable matchmaking environment for all platforms.

Well I and many like me... disagree with that assessment. For starters, I don't force anyone to play with a controller and lots choose too because of AA... add in the fact that along with AA they get lower recoil and now that's double the advantage.

And if that's how developers really view things, they need to also remember that not everyone is a pro and not everyone is young. I'm almost 60 with disabilities and my reflexes are nowhere near what they were when I was 20 yrs old playing BF2 when it released. But I still use M+K... even though I struggle to get kills a lot of the time.

Everyone should have the option to disable crossplay. At worst, it will be harder to find a match depending upon location and time of day... easy fix is to then just re-enable it, like I use to prior to CoD removing it after MW2019.

This might be a controversial take, but I kind of wish they do not split the player base into different matchmaking pools. Make "cross-play off" a soft preference instead (for all platforms, including PC), and add a preference for only playing with same input type (mnk / controller).

These preferences should only be inputs to the matchmaking system, so the matchmaking will consider your choices, but can not guarantee them. This way all players will exist in the same matchmaking pool, and can potentially be matched after a certain threshold (for example after 2-5 minutes) if the system can not find enough players based on your preferences. This will ensure a healthy player base for the game in the long run.

Then focus on balancing the inputs instead. The current aim-assist system in BF6 is a good start, but the lowered recoil for controllers should be removed.

I would 100% vote for a way to do a filter by input... but only if it was a guarantee. Again, if it was searching for 10 minutes and still not finding me a lobby with just M+K... then I'd just re-enable and play whatever I get and then try again later.

Not when your giving them the ability to snap to targets and insane amounts of aim assist. PC players deserve to be able to play with PC players, controller players have unfair advantage now not the PC players.
