Why has EVERY Battlefield game regressed?

Why is it so difficult for EA to make a game better then the one they made prior to it? They have a disturbing pattern of making their battlefield entries worse every one. I think MASS firings are needed to get this franchise BACK to what it was many many many years ago. I guess the question is, WHY are they so terrible at making a game they almost perfected well over a decade ago?

I think Battlefield Studios should return to days of Refractor era games. Make game first for PC and then do console optimisation. And this is coming from PlayStation gamer who has been with series since 2010. I, and I believe, many others want a proper successor of Battlefield 2 to come out.

I think they’re finally listening, and understood what people want, they’re making big maps, nerfing cod movements, they know that Cod users will abandon this game when new Cod will be released, I think they tried to pleased CoD fans just to sell more copies, but now they go back to BF fans otherwise they will abandon this game

  • I know, and often join in on hating BF6.  But not only is it the best current option for a shooter that isn't too complex, or too simple.  The only reason it feels so bad is because BF3 and 4 were just that good.  The best question here really is "Why didn't you guys just copy 90% of that, with new maps and weapons?"

People bringing up the CEO bonus.  It should also be noted that part of that bonus was due to implementing an AI strategy.

But BF6 isn't made using AI guys, we promise.

Maybe they should use that AI to figure out how to make the game more like BF4.  Clearly they don't listen to the long time players, instead they choose to focus on the whales who play the game for 2 hours a week but buy everything in the store.

EA just cares about profits and the share holders like any other corporate conglomerate. DICE has been gutted. Mass layoffs while the CEOs get massive bonuses.  Quality is not synonymous for an environment like that. We will never get another decent BF. With the Saudi's buying EA it's really going down the crapper.

  • I hate to admit it but, ProteinParrot is right. In addition most decision made have been done for a bigger player base that wants the absolute oposite of what BF is supposed to be. They want the high earning that COD has by anual releases, micro transactions, with no real substance on the game. Just add and remove features per releases and sell it like it's new while contradictions become more apparent in the direction the game goes as some decisions are permanent or too difficult to change without a complete revamp. Hope for the best but if they push with annual releases it's best to hold off on buying the game at retail price before we know for sure what we are getting

  • The masters who created the classics have long since gone from the offices of DICE. Long gone. BF6 is basically a messy fustercluck of 4 different studios and given how the greedy rotten piece of human refuse Andrew Wilson has received a massive bonus while a lot of the BF6 devs were let go, it's never going to get better. In fact, i'd expect a distinct nosedive in quality from this season.

As if it could get any worse, what with the amateurish netcode, awful TTK and myriad of bugs.
