Bring back the Battlefield 4 EOD Bot with unlimited battery
Hello DICE team,
I would like to share a suggestion regarding the Engineer's EOD Bot for Battlefield 6 and future Battlefield games.
In Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4, the EOD Bot had unlimited battery, which made it much more interesting and versatile. It could repair vehicles, attack enemy vehicles, spot enemies, and provide real support to the team.
The Battlefield 4 EOD Bot was already balanced despite having an unlimited battery. It could be destroyed by enemy fire, it could overheat after extended use, and players had to wait a few seconds before being able to repair again. The repair itself also had a limited duration. It therefore did not make tanks invincible.
A tank that stays far away from the fight can be difficult to destroy, but it usually has less impact on objectives. On the other hand, a tank that pushes into the middle of the battle takes much more risk, because enemies can attack it from multiple directions. An EOD Bot would simply reward teamwork between tank drivers and Engineers.
The EOD Bot could also create new strategies. For example, several players using EOD Bots to hunt and harass enemy vehicles could create a true anti-vehicle role that is different from simply using rocket launchers.
I believe bringing back the unlimited battery system from Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4 would help restore a more tactical gameplay style, encourage more teamwork, and make the Engineer role more interesting.
