“unable to connect to EA servers”. Error code: 1:8600 1S:66003S:4688822970:0B

I’ve been playing absolutely fine since launch until today when I received this. I have no external hard drives or USB devices installed and play the game via steam.

i have unlinked and linked my ea and steam accounts, removed all usb devices, disabled ipv6 etc but without success.
