9950x3d core parking

BF6 is the only game that CCD1 will not park for me. GameBar does NOT save the "remember this game setting", but this only happens in BF6.

Any help getting CCD1 to park correctly for BF6?

Thanks.

    GstRender.Thread.MaxProcessorCount 16

Works perfect for me. Got 240-280 fps with RTX5090, depends on specific maps.

Fix to use only the first CCD on Ryzen 9 9950X3D:

Make sure the Xbox Game Bar is installed, updated, and working. Tagging a game (“Mark as a Game”) must function correctly.

In BIOS, set CPPC to Auto. Install the latest AMD Chipset Driver so that 3D V-Cache optimization is active.

Set the Windows Power Plan to Balanced.

Then create a file named User.cfg in your game or app folder (not User.cfg.txt).

    Add the following lines:

    • Thread.ProcessorCount 8
    • Thread.MaxProcessorCount 8
    • Thread.MinFreeProcessorCount 0
    • Thread.JobThreadPriority 0

Save the file, start your game or application, and check in Task Manager under Performance → CPU that only the first CCD is being used. Now it should work correctly using only the first CCD.

I'll check it out today, I used steam ingame monitor yesterday and it shows that only cores of ccd0 are active

Same here no fix. CCD1 does not park. Tried everything from console commands to process lasso. Hopefully EA will do something about it but I'm not holding my breath.

Unfortunately that fix doesn't actually work for BF6. Both CCD will remain active during the game. You can check with AMD Ryzen Master and see CCD1 does not park.

  • I just found a solution which was used in bf2042

Create a user.cfg file at root folder of bf6 and use these configs

    Thread.ProcessorCount 8

    Thread.MaxProcessorCount 8

    Thread.MinFreeProcessorCount 0

    Thread.JobThreadPriority 0

And then in game, only ccd0 will be used

  • Adding same - CCD1 will not park with this. The beta did, once 'remember this is a game' was actioned.

Only way I have managed to 'fix' this was to turn off CCD 1 in Bios, which is like disabling 4 cylinders on a V8.

Just totally reinstalled a fresh install of 11 25H1, updated drivers, chipset etc.

    Will not function as designed.

    A solution appreciated.

  • I have this problem too, although gamebar can recognize battlefield 6 now, after joining a game, two ccd of my 9950x3d  will both at  high usage. (when in lobby, only ccd0 works)

I don't know if battlefield 6 really requires so many cores because 9800x3d works well with only half cores...

I found a solution on Reddit that actually worked for me:

    From User: Visual_Ocelot_281

"To speed things up, you can use the following two registry files before and after switching ‘Remember that this is a game’ in the Game Bar. To enable DVR, copy this text into an editor and save the file with a name of your choice ending in ‘.reg’, then run it.

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\GameDVR]
    “AppCaptureEnabled”=dword:00000001

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\GameConfigStore]
    “GameDVR_Enabled”=dword:00000001

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\PolicyManager\default\ApplicationManagement\AllowGameDVR]
    “value”=dword:00000001

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\GameDVR]
    “AllowGameDVR”=dword:00000001

    Restart your PC.

Open the game and toggle ‘Remember this is a game’ in the Game Bar overlay settings. Do the same as mentioned above with this text to disable DVR.

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\GameDVR]
    “AppCaptureEnabled”=dword:00000000

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\GameConfigStore]
    “GameDVR_Enabled”=dword:00000000

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\PolicyManager\default\ApplicationManagement\AllowGameDVR]
    “value”=dword:00000000

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\GameDVR]
    “AllowGameDVR”=dword:00000000

You may need to restart again to stop DVR from running, but your game should now be recognized in the Game Bar. Also, remember to check that your power plan is set to ‘Balanced’, even if you're sure it is—that could have saved me an hour the other day"
