Abuse of the reporting tool.

I received an email stating my Steam name is "inappropriate content." That name is Jakk Arson. They claim that arson is a legal term that means the crime of intentionally and maliciously setting fire to property. Ironically, we're playing a game where you set fire to people and various objects with incendiary weapons.

This is more of an abuse of the reporting tool than anything. Maybe I made someone mad by killing them over and over, and the only way for them to feel good about themselves is to report me.

Somewhere you have to draw the line on what's offensive or complete nonsense

  • Hi numone17,

Regardless of whether you agree with the warning or not, it'd probably be wise to change your Steam name so it conforms with the terms of service and avoids you receiving a suspension or ban.

There's always one hahaha. You should probably learn the difference between your constitutional right and private terms and conditions.

This is more about common sense. If EA is worried about offensive words, they should probably not put their name on games with killing involved and stick to games like "The Sims." Deeming the word arson as inappropriate in a game that has you starting people on fire is complete bonehead thinking.
