Allow key-rebinding for Class-Change in Battlefield 6 main HUD
Let us rebind the Class-Change hotkeys on the deploy screen (ESDF players screwed)
I like a lot about BF6, but this one thing drives me nuts.
The problem (ESDF movement instead of WASD):
On the deploy/class-select screen, the game uses hard-coded keys to flip classes. I play ESDF (so E = forward). When I die while holding E (because I’m literally moving forward in a fight), the deploy screen picks up that held E as the class-change hotkey and switches my class. I don’t notice until I spawn as the wrong class and have to fix it. Repeat. Forever.
Why this sucks:
- Constantly spawning on the wrong class ruins flow and costs objectives, or in my case switches me from engineer to support or something when I’m spawning in behind a tank.
- Tons of PC players use ESDF or custom layouts.
- Full rebinding (or at least opt-outs) should be standard.
What I’m asking for (any of these would work):
- Add a rebind in Controls for the Class-Change / Deploy-screen hotkeys.
- Add a toggle: "Use keyboard hotkeys to change class on deploy: ON/OFF."
- Or require an explicit mouse click to change class on that menu.
Repro (PC / ESDF):
1. Set movement to ESDF (E = forward).
2. Get killed while holding E.
3. On the deploy/class screen, your class flips because E is treated as the class-change key.
4. You spawn as the wrong class unless you catch it.
I paid $70 for this and it’s a basic QoL fix. Please let us rebind those deploy-screen keys or give us a way to disable them.
