Battlefield 6 – Splash Screen Crash on Launch (Steam Version, October 2025)

Hi everyone,

I purchased Battlefield 6 on Steam (PC) and since the latest update the game crashes right after the splash screen — it closes automatically with no error message.

I’ve already tried everything listed in EA Help and other community threads:

– Reinstalled and repaired Easy Anti-Cheat

– Reinstalled EA App and launched as Administrator

– Disabled all overlays (Steam, EA, Discord)

– Updated GPU drivers and AMD chipset

– Updated BIOS (Gigabyte B550M DS3H, version F51 – 09/03/2025)

– Enabled Secure Boot

– Fully reinstalled the game

The issue persists. I’ve noticed many users on Steam and Reddit reporting the same splash screen crash with the Steam version of BF6 after the latest patch.

Could you please confirm if there’s an official fix or workaround already available, or if a hotfix is being developed?

and what if i have windows 11 with all installed updates?

I still have the same problem. Game crashes my pc after launching it. Anyone managed to find a solution?

I have the same problem. I launch the game from steam and it opens a black window and then crashes. Sometimes there is an event in Windows Event Viewer about javelin anti-cheat having a problem, sometimes there is not.

4080 Super GPU
7800x3D CPU
32GB RAM

All of the followings didn't work
Reinstall the game and verify local files through steam
Update Windows
Update bios
Add bf6.exe, SP bf6.exe, and anticheat exe to exploit protection overrides in Windows security with every single setting disabled
Turn off motion smoothing in Nvidia app both globally and for bf6 specifically
Update GPU drivers
Update chipset drivers
Reinstall on the C drive
Run EA app as administrator
Clear EA app cache
Reinstall EA javelin anti-cheat
Completely uninstall and reinstall GPU drivers using DDU
Enable memory integrity and windows

Agree some kind of acknowledgement that there's an issue with the anti cheat files would be nice, and that they are working to resolve it....then we could all just calm down and wait for a patch, but this silence is maddening. I've played 99 hours with no issues and yesterday the anti cheat file validation dramas started. You obviously know your stuff....why they wouldn't grab you & work with you is beyond me.

I just wanted to leave what fixed it for me. I went down the rabbit hole of trying everything and nothing worked.
I had given up until I tried launching another app on my PC that triggered error letting me know my Microsoft’s Visual C++ 2015–2022 Redistributable was not functioning correctly. I performed the repair on it and now everything works.
