Rank 330. Here's my experience:
I'm on a gig cable system. My ping (Lat) to game servers is usually 65. Sometimes 55. I've watch things very closely for a couple of weeks. The game's timing between high to low ping players is so obvious, I can tell you the connection speed of the other player by how I was killed. If I get hit indication on me and able to take cover (or return fire), he has a comparable connection. If I instantly die (BAM dead), he has a 30, or faster, connection. My shots mostly don't register on them. It takes me firing .5 seconds some times to start getting hits. It has gotten worse and worse. It seems the timing offset is .5 sec or more. REDSEC Duos or Quads are unplayable now. I've had too many encounters to count where I'm firing at another player and my gun stops firing. Then I'm down. NOT just knocked down, but completely WIPED. What I'm seeing is that far behind what's going on. It's VERY obvious when the other player is coming around a corner (I can hear them coming and I have the drop on them) BUT he's firing at me (AND HITTING ME) before I can even see him.
I really like REDSEC, but, as I said, for me it's unplayable now. My experience tonight was the WORST yet. EX: I'm hammering a guy with a machine gun and he instantly drops me with a pistol!! If I got a kill, it's because I emptied a machine on the other player. I'll probably pull back and rarely play anymore. This unfair timely BS is why I stopped playing Battlefield a few years ago. I was hoping the new version would be better. Not only is it not better, it's worse.
