For me the game hasn't gotten worse by the updates, but it hasn't really improved fundamentally either.
Dice updated the audio and it was an improvement, but the sound is still totally broken (silent vehicles/footsteps/gunfire/general sound effects, awful directionality etc).
The netcode/desync is just BF, it has never really improved much. In 2026, it feels just as bad as BF4 (which is 12 years old by now) and TTD/TTK inconsitencies has been "discussed to death" since BFV, without any meaningful improvements - even though Dice has acknowledged the problem several times. It is very disappointing that Dice cannot improve this.
We also still have a lot of movement issues (getting stuck, vaulting inconsitant etc), which has been a problem in earlier titles as well. Small annoying issues, that should have been sorted a long time ago.
Spawning can also be pretty awful sometimes, again an issue that have been "haunting" BF-games for a long time.
Visibility is a total joke and this has also been an issue in older titles (BFV was really bad). Their 'sovis'-solution is not really helping much, the game has fundamental lighting issues (inside/outside) and the colors used for uniforms blend too well into the environment. Form before function is a big issue.
There is a lot of other issues, like sniper-balancing, bad map-design etc etc.
I still think BF6 is the best BF-game since BF4 (most fun), but it still has a lot of 'legacy issues' which unfortunately makes the game frustrating to play. If Dice wants a healthy player-base they need to fix these fundamental issues, otherwise people gets annoyed and goes somewhere else.
