Battlefield 6 writes large amounts of data to NVME ssd drive
I had a Samsung 4TB 990 Pro that was losing health at a fast rate in my new gaming pc I built. It was also writing a ton of data or TBW to the drive and had almost 500 TBW in 3 months. I contacted Samsung and they had me send the drive back for repair as it was likely a bad controller chip on the drive. So I bought a WD SN8100 4TB to replace it while I wait for the repaired drive, I installed my image of my operating system which was 2 TB and everything is working great. Then I noticed in less that 3 weeks my new drive dropped 1% in health and the TBW in less than 3 weeks is up to almost 80 and all I do is play BF6 5 times a week for 3 hours at a time. It seems to me BF6 is doing a lot of writing to the ssd and at this rate in 5 years it will possibly be at 6500 TBW and the warranty is 5 years or 2400 TBW. So I see that others on a google search have seen similar issues only with BF6. Are there any tricks or settings to change to fix this? Is EA or Dice aware of this and are going to optimize the game in the future? I have a 13700K cpu with 64BG ram and a 5070 RTX gpu.
Thanks
P.S. I am currently communication with WD about the drive as maybe it's not the drive after all. At least not the WD drive.
