BF6 Full system freeze/lockup. NO CTD, black screen, or BSOD.

I have similar pc system (9800X3D, 32mb, 5070ti, MSI X870E Tomahawk) and have had the same issue for weeks - BF6 locking entire pc, even with latest bios update, no EXP0, no X3D blah blah. This silly thing solved it:

Vid describes literally enabling onboard gpu both in bios and device manager, which makes no logical sense. I also followed the most recent commenters advice, to add BF6.exe as preferred GPU under Settings>system>display>graphics.
Have now played 3 matches without a crash - first time in weeks!!! I was at point of rage breaking anything in sight tonight when I found his vid and ran with it. Makes no sense...but works.

Sorry to hear that you’re running into this. You’ve already tried advanced troubleshooting steps.

Could you please check if you can find any dump files in the following locations? If so, would you mind uploading them?

C:\Windows\Minidumps
C:\Users\[your name]\Documents\Battlefield 6\CrashDumps

In the meantime, you may also want to try updating Windows and reinstalling or repairing the Visual C++ Redistributables, as these can sometimes help with troubleshooting.

Hello again, there has been some development with my issue.

I made 2 changes which lead to me being able to get 2 CTDs. Both of these changes occurred prior to my next attempt to run the game. The first change was installing a new Nvidia driver (WHQL 595.97), which released sometime after my original post, while the second change was disabling Memory Context Restore in BIOS (MSI Click BIOS X does not have a Fast Boot option for me to disable). Please note that after these two CTDs occurred, the original issue of a full system freeze has returned, and I am no longer getting CTDs or new dump files.

I took a look at it myself and the crash dump points to some FSR2-related error that seems pretty well documented. Additionally, after the second CTD which resulted in the dump file I went to my video settings to ensure that it was not trying to use FSR, which it wasn't. It was on DLSS. I switched it to my usual settings after that which are DLAA (no upscaling) and borderless window, and upon making the change to borderless window, the game no longer estimates my VRAM usage (showing 0 / 0 no matter what settings I have). This persists even after changing the game back to fullscreen, switching back to DLSS, and even resetting all video defaults. Not sure if this is a red herring but I figured its worth mentioning. As mentioned above, I am back to getting full system lockups with no black screen or persisting audio.

(Also .dmp files are not allowed for uploading? Is this because I am only recently active?)
