So in my case, somehow switching from full screen to borderless solved the issue. It's been very difficult to test different options, what with the strict time limit before the game crashes even when just fiddling with the menus, and I was already running the game at very low options on purpose (I currently get 160+ fps which is overkill, but I put the onus on smoothness rather than quality in multiplayer games). I'm not even sure that's what did it, it's just the last option I changed, it may have been a combination of other things.
But then the new patch came in today, and once again, I'm back on a two minutes timer before the game crashes. The two recent updates, 1.1.3.0 and 1.1.3.1 have been an utter catastrophe, with little way forward to help resolve the issues and seemingly very little interest from DICE for those catastrophic edge cases.
